שלוש שנים לאחר שהופיעה בישראל, חוזרת הזמרת האמריקאית, הדיוה, ליידי גאגא (Lady Gaga), לשתי הופעות בחודש אוגוסט באיצטדיון פתח תקווה. הופעותיה יתקיימו במסגרת סיבוב ההופעות העולמי של הזמרת: "Born This Way".

ליידי גאגא נחשבת לאייקון פופ עם הופעות לבוש אופנתיים במיוחד. היא קיבלה השראה מכוכבים כמו דייויד בואי, מייקל ג'קסון ולהקת קווין והצהירה כי אופנה היא המקור לכתיבת השירים שלה. ליידי גאגא נחשבת לאשה המרוויחה ביותר במוזיקה בשנת 2011 עם הכנסות הנאמדות בכ- 90 מיליון דולר.

- שמה האמיתי של גברת "גאגה" הינו סטפני ג'ואן אנג'לינה ג'רמנוטה. היא נולדה ב-28 במרץ 1986 בברוקלין, ניו-יורק. משפחתה ממוצא איטלקי.

- כבר בגיל 4 למדה לנגן בפסנתר ובגיל 10 הופיעה לראשונה בפני קהל מצומצם במיסה המקומית (כנראה בלבוש מלא).

George Benson in Israel on the 21st of July 2011

Grammy winning, American Jazz player, George Benson, will join many other international singers (such as Kruder and Dorfmeister, Roxette, Moby, Duran Duran, Paul Simon, Bryan Ferry, Jane's Addiction, Bob Dylan, 10cc and Suede) and arrive this summer in Israel and perform on the 21st of July, 2011 at the Amphi Theater at Caesarea. Benson, aged 67, was born in Pennsylvania and made his musical breakthrough at the age of 21 as a Jazz guitarist, although even before then he was playing with the top guns of Jazz such as Herbie Hancock, Jeff Macduff and Wess Montgomery. In 1976 Benson received a Grammy for his first album named "Breezin" which became a Platinum album and reached the #1 in the American hit lists. Benson recorded 30 albums and is know as a pioneer in the mixing of R&B and Rock with Jazz. Among his more famous songs one can find: "The Greatest Love Of All" and "Give Me The Night". 

During his performance in Israel, Benson will play all his greatest hits accompanied by piano and keyboard player David Garfield, Stanley Banks on the bass guitar, Micheal O'Neil on the guitar and vocals and drumer Oscar Siton.

Suede in Israel this July

Suede, the famous British band, is set to perform in Israel on the 1st of July, 2011 after not being here for 3 years since there last performance. Suede will be visiting Israel along with a long list of other musical performers such as Kruder and Dorfmeister, Enrique Iglesias, Roxette, Moby, Duran Duran, Paul Simon, Bryan Ferry, Jane's Addiction and Bob Dylan.

The concert is part of new world tour following the band re-uniting on the 15.1.2010. The band was formed in 1989 and included 4 members: the lead singer Brett Anderson, the guitarist Bernard Butler, bass player Mat Osman and the drummer Simon Gilbert. After 3 years only, the band had raised a huge amount of fans and was announced "the best band in Britain" by numerous magazines. In 1993 they came out with their first album "Suede" which reached the top of the charts and almost become the top selling album of the decade. Despite going through a rough period, being hospitalized and changes to the original date, it is now official: Bryan Ferry will perform in Israel on the 22 of June, 2011. Brian will join a parade of artists coming to Israel this summer, among them: Kruder and Dorfmeister, Enrique Iglesias, Roxette, Moby, Duran Duran, Paul Simon, Jane's Addiction, Sued and Bob Dylan.

The British singer, aged 66, will arrive with a large amount of band members and support crew and is intended, according to the organizers, to give a spectacular show. Brian, who started his musical career in the 70's with the band Roxy Music, achieved impressive achievements including 3 albums which reached the number 1 spot on the charts and 11 songs which reached the top ten hit lists. Among his more popular songs you can find:  "Slave to Love", "Avalon" and "Jealous Guy".

Bob Dylan Concert in Israel

The legendary singer, Bob Dylan, will perform in Israel on the 20th of July at the Ramat-Gan stadium thus joining the rain of great artists coming to perform in Israel, including Kruder and Dorfmeister, Enrique Iglesias, Roxette, Moby, Duran Duran and Paul Simon. Dylan, who celebrated his 70th birthday on the 24th of May, began back in 60's and has since acquired an amazing repertoire of hits and achievements, including winning a Grammy, the Golden Globe and the Academy Awards. Additionally, Dilan has been included in the Hal of Fame of at least 3 countries. Among his more famous songs, although all are truly unique, you can find: "Like a Rolling Stone", "Blown in the Wind" and "Things have changed". 

A bit more fun facts about this amazing singer:

- During his performances Dylan plays the guitar, keyboard and the harmonica and it is said that he can play a number of additional instruments. 

- Dylan began his tours in 1988 and it is said that the tour has never stopped since - therefore titled "The Never Ending Tour". 

- Dylan was born to Jewish parents and his full name is Robert Allen Zimmerman. He took the name "Bob" whilst  being a student in Minnesota, USA, and some say it was because of the influence that the famous poet Dylan Thomas had on him. 

- From 1994 and onwards, Dylan published 3 drawing and painting books which appeared in museums around the world.

- Dylan has performed twice before in Israel.

Paul Simon in Israel this July

The Internationally admired singer, Paul Simon, will give one concert at the Ramat-Gan stadium this coming July and thus join a growing number of performers coming to Israel, including Kruder and Dorfmeister, Enrique Iglesias, Roxette, Suede, Moby, Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran and Bob Dylan. Simon, aged 69 - very soon to be 70, is touring the world in order to promote his new album "So Beautifull or So What" which recently came out and has received very good reviews. The tour began around April and so far has been doing great. 

A bit about Paul Simon for those of you a bit less familiar:

- He was born in New-Jersey, USA, is Jewish and has been married 3 times. 

- His way to fame began in 1965 as part of a duo "Simon and Garfunkel" who became famous for the following 3 songs (among others): 

The Sound of Silence, Mrs. Robinson, Bridge over Troubled Water

- In 1970, at the height of their fame, the pair split up and Simon began his solo career. At the beginning of his solo career Simon was highly influenced by the music played in the slum areas of poverty stricken South-Africa during the years of the apartheid. Simon actively contributed to movements against the apartheid.  

- During his musical career Simon won 13 Grammy awards and in 2001 he was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 

- Time magazine included Simon in the list of the 100 most influential people who helped shape today's world.

Kruder and Dorfmeister will be performing in Israel on the 12th of June, 2011. The pair will take part in the "picnic2011" festival and will appear a long with other artists such as Moby, Jane's Addiction and Duran Duran. Enrique Iglesias concert in Israel

This summer is going to be a hot one in Israel! Along with some other great bands, like Kruder and Dorfmeister, Roxette, Moby, Duran Duran Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon, Enrique Iglesias has confirmed that he will be performing in Israel on the 1st of June. 

Enrique Iglesias, the son of Julio Iglesias, is one of the most successful Spanish singers in the world and the excitement in Israel is big. One can't exactly say that Enrique has been here before, seeing that his last visit (a few years back) was only for a few hours during which he gave a private concert for a Russian oligarch and a limited number of his guests. 

Some interesting information about Enrique:

- Enrique was born in Madrid, Spain. His father being of Spanish origin and his mother from Philippine origin.

- In 1989 Enrique moved to Miami, USA in order to pursue his dream of becoming a singer. Whilst living there he began his university studies in Business Management but with the start of his musical career quite. 

- According to close friends, Enrique did not want his father knowing of his musical aspirations, nor did he want to use his family name to promote himself. As evidence of the above, he borrowed money from friends to record his first demo which he sent to various producers. 

- In the beginning of his career his stage name was Enrique Martinez and he was presented as a singer from Guatemala. 

- Only towards the year 2000 did Enrique start to sing in English - until then singing only in Spanish - a move that would soon make him into an even bigger international star and a millionaire (Enrique received an advance payment of 48 million dollars(!) in order to sign with his record company, at the time, Universal Music Group). 

- In his resume, Enrique can include 5 songs which were included in the top 100 charts and a total of 52 songs that reached number one in the various charts. 

- Until 2010 Enrique sold 55 million albums in English and Spanish. 

- In 2007 he became the first western musical artist to give a concert in Damascus, Syria. 

- According to contradicting reports, Enrique is the spouse of famous tennis player Anna Kournikova and some say the two even married.

The band was formed in the 80's by Marie Fredrikson and Per Gessle and have come out since with 33 singles which have sold more than 75 million copies! Last February, the band came out with its 8th  album "Charm School" and has since began its world tour which is scheduled to continue till November. In 1989 the band became famous for its single "Listen to your heart" and "The look". Shortly of the release of the two hit songs the band released another bombshell track called "It must have been love" which was used in the legendary movie "Pretty Woman" with Julia Roberts and Richard Geere. 

Many have compared the Swedish band's success to another Swedish band named "Abba" due to both bands amazing sales success.

Duran Duran concert in Israel

Along with a few other great artists scheduled to appear in Israel this summer, Duran Duran has announced that they will give one concert on the 30th of July 2011. The concert is part of the "picnic" festival in which numerous bands will play such as Moby, Jane's Addiction, Kruder and Dorfmeister and others. 

For those of you who are not that familiar with the band, here is a bit of fun facts:

- The band was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England, by keyboard master nick Rhodes, base player John Taylor, Stephen Duffy and later Roger Taylor. 

-The band became very popular in the 1980's and sold over 70 million copies from 13 albums. 

- This is the second time that the band will appear in Israel, when they last appeared in 1994. 

- On the 27th of July 1998, the band gave a concert in memory of princess Dianna at the request of the royal family. An additional concert was given in 2007 for the same cause, with prince William saying that it was his mother's favorite band.

Duran Duran in Israel

פול סיימון (Paul Simon) יופיע בישראל ביולי.

הזמר הוותיק והאיכותי פול סיימון (Paul Simon) יצטרף למגוון רחב של זמרים העושים "עליה" לישראל בחודשים הקרובים, וביניהם  דוראן דוראן, בוב דילן, קרודר ודורפמייסטר, מובי, בריאן פרי, להקת סוויד, 10cc, רוקסט ו-ג'יינס אדיקשן. סיימון יעניק הופעה באצטדיון רמת גן. סימון (69), יגיע לישראל במסגרת אלבומו החדש "So Beautiful or So What" אשר יצא לא מזמן ובינתיים זוכה לביקורת חיובית לא רק בקרב מעריציו. את מסע ההופעות כבר התחיל סימון לפני כ-שבוע וחצי ובינתיים לפי הביקורות נראה כי הכל עובר חלק. 
קצת אודות פול:
- סימון נולד בניו-ג'רסי, ארה"ב, הינו יהודי והספיק להתחתן כבר 3 פעמים.
- תחילת תהילתו ב-1965 כחלק מהצמד סימון וגרפנקל אז התפרסמו, בין היתר, בזכות שלושת השירים שכתב:
The Sound of Silence, Mrs. Robinson, Bridge over Troubled Water.
- ב- 1970, בשיא תהילתם, הזוג נפרד וסימון החל קריירה לבדו. בשנותיו הראשונות לבד הושפע סימון רבות ממוזיקת עיירות העוני בדרום אפריקה ועזר רבות לתנועה נגד האפרטייד שם.  
- במהלך הקריירה המוזיקלית שלו זכה סימון ל-13 פרסי גראמי וב-2001 הוא הוכנס ל-Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- באמצע שנות האלפיים נבחר סימון לאחד ממאה האנשים שעזרו לעצב את העולם על-ידי מגאז'ין טיים.
